"The Hand is Quicker"
Ever see a magician do a magic trick and then tell you how it works? That's exactly what happens when your students experience "The Hand is Quicker." But then the magician does the tricks again and fools the audience anyway!
In this show, Danny Orleans teaches the three basic principles magicians use to trick audiences. But more importantly, he shows how this misdirection occurs in everyday life, often influencing students to make poor choices.
For example:
• TV advertising tricks us into thinking a product tastes better than it really does.
• Cereal boxes create the illusion that they contain more cereal than they really do.
• Clothing is sometimes designed to make people look thinner and taller than they really are.
But when Mr. Orleans performs a trick where just one person in the audience is fooled, and everyone else can see how it works, you'll realize that this show teaches more than just magic tricks. Children will learn to have a greater awareness of the world by expanding their own perceptive abilities and a deeper appreciation for their fellow student's point of view.
